Freedom Writers

I've watched the trailer of this show few years ago. It seems attractive, so i saved it into my hp. But, only till just now, i remembered about it, and I've watched it through youtube. Its a nice and touching show. People should watch it =)

The show took place in a school, where the students are only 13 or 14 are involved in gangsterism. Its alot about on how the whites looked down on the blacks and despise them, thinking they are drugs and stuff, but yet, they are talking about intergrity. These students, they gave up hope, cause, they were always treated bad, saying that they would be lucky if they survive until 18. So they were never liking to go to school. But there is this one teacher, Ms G. she inspired these students.

Roughly, the story is about,

Hilary Swank stars in this gripping story of inner city kids raised on drive-by shootings and hard-core attitude - and the teacher who gives them the one thing they need most: a voice of there own. Dropped into the free-fire zone of a school torn by violence and racial tension, teacher Erin Gruwell battles an uncaring system in a fight to make the classroom matter in her students lives. Now, telling their own stories, and hearing the stories of others, a group of supposedly "unteachable" teens will discover the power of tolerence, reclaim their shattered lives, and change their world.

I heard one of the student sharing his story, and tried to copy it, wasnt perfect, but im trying =) :-

The Summer, was the worst summer of the short fourteen years of life. It all started with a phone call. My mother was crying and begging, asking for more time, as if she was gasping for her last breath of air. She held me as tightly as she could and cry. Her tears hit my shirt like bullets. She told me that we were been evicted. She kept apologizing to me. I thought I have no home. I should have asked something less expensive for Christmas.

On the morning of the eviction, the hard knock on the door woke me up. The sheriff was there to do his job. I looked up in the sky, waiting for something to happen. My mother has no family to lean on. No money coming in. Why bother coming to school, getting good grades if I am homeless.

The bus stopped in front of the school, I feel like throwing up. I am wearing clothes from last year, some old shoes and no new haircut. I kept thinking I get laughed at. Instead......(i couldnt catch the rest =.=)

Its quite a sad, story and touching story, the teacher sacrificed alot for the students, and neglected her own family. She struggled, to save both.

I'll give a 4 and a half star though XD

If im not wrong, this is where they started the Freedom Writer's Foundation.
